Among the most sought-after collectibles in the game are the Ornaments—mysterious objects scattered across the map. Collecting all nine ornaments not only reveals intriguing lore but also unlocks the powerful Ancestor’s Return weapon.

    In this guide, I’ll walk you through the precise locations of each Ornament in Horizon Forbidden West and explain how to retrieve them to earn your reward.

    Start the quest

    You begin your hunt for the Ornaments after completing the Nights of Lights errand quest, which starts at Hidden Ember. Once you’ve finished this quest, talk to Stemmur to initiate the quest to retrieve all the Ornaments scattered across the Forbidden West.

    Dunehollow

    Location: After progressing through the main quest “The Sea of Sands,” head to the location marked on your map.

    Objective: Enter the code 739135 to unlock the door in Dunehollow. The Ornament is inside the room. Once you’ve retrieved it, bring it back to Stemmur.

    The Daunt

    Location: In the Relic Ruins: The Daunt, explore the ruins to find a key.

    Objective: Use the key to unlock the door on the second level, then enter the code 1705 to access the room containing the Ornament.

    No Man’s Land

    Location: Head to the Relic Ruins: No Man’s Land.

    Objective: To get inside, you need to ignite fire gleam at multiple locations. Inside, carefully transfer a power cell from one generator to another without getting it wet. Once the machine is powered, enter the code 2204 to unlock the door and collect the Ornament.

    Restless Weald

    Location: The next Ornament is in the Restless Weald Relic Ruin.

    Objective: Use the grapple to move a nearby rail cart until it’s parallel to the ruin. Climb to the roof and explore the tops to find the key module. Use the key to unlock a door on the second floor with the code 1923. The Ornament will be inside.

    Dry Yearn

    Location: Explore the Dry Yearn Ruins.

    Objective: Find the key to the door on the upper level. Prop the blast door open by placing a rail cart under it. Use the key module to unlock the door and collect the Ornament.

    The Stillsands

    Location: In The Stillsands Ruin, you’ll need to open the water valve to flood the area.

    Objective: After flooding the ruin, use the grappling hook and a floating crate to reach a higher floor. Find the key module and use it to unlock the door on the same level to collect the Ornament.

    The Long Coast

    Location: The Long Coast Ruin features an Ornament located above the elevator.

    Objective: Position two crates on the elevator, with one on top of the other. Use the top crate to reach the Ornament.

    Runner’s Wild

    Location: In the Runner’s Wild Ruin, find the altar room key.

    Objective: Stack two crates to reach the locked door opposite the key’s location. Once inside, make your way to the topmost room of the ruin to find the Ornament.

    Isle of Spires

    Location: The Isle of Spires Relic Ruin is tied to the main quest “Faro’s Tomb.”Objective: Find the key module, then use it with the code 2109109 to unlock the door and retrieve the final Ornament.

    Collect Reward

    After collecting all nine Ornaments, return to Stemmur at Hidden Ember. He will reward you with the Ancestor’s Return, a legendary Shredder Gauntlet, from the supply cache nearby.
